So the Sabres didn’t play all that well, but they took advantage of their chances. A few guys got their first goals, and some monkeys left the building.

  • Tyler Myers. ‘Nuff said.
  • Steve Montador. Showed some offensive tendencies. Nice.
  • Paul “Goose” Gaustad. Beating the crap out of a guy who bowls over your goaltender makes me like you a lot.
  • John Tavares (the lacrosse one). He was well-spoken and kind of funny in between periods.
  • Marty Biron. I don’t care if Marty plays for another team. I love him. And those eyes…
  • Clarke MacArthur. Played a good game – hustled, took hits, scored. Can’t ask for much more.
  • Daniel Paille. The kid recognized he was going to need to have a monster game to stay in the lineup. He used his size and speed to his advantage.
  • Jason Pominville. Yay! My favorite player shot a rocket and began what will hopefully be a population explosion in Pominville.
  • Goal total (for the Sabres). I think we can all agree their goal-scoring problems are over.

Didn’t like:

  • Miller’s oopsie. Ryan, do us all a favor – let the D handle the puck behind the net.
  • Goals against. The Islanders should not have been able to score three goals. What was up with those rebounds, Miller?
  • Derek Roy’s commercial w/Cellino & Barnes. Derek looks as comfortable as a man seeing his grandmother naked.
  • Jersey foul. They showed a bunch of fans during the 3rd period. Some douchebag was wearing a “69 – C” jersey. Puh-leeze.

Tomorrow: the return of Max Afinogenov. I’m not worried.
