The Rematch. *cue scary music*

Liked:

  • The guys look like they came to play tonight. About damn time.
  • Nice pressure from the point on the Stafford goal. And Stafford was where he was supposed to be, and not where he was for most of last season.
  • Hustle leads to the Gaustad goal. I know it’s juvenile but I’m tickled watching Gaustad and Gerbe play together.
  • I have to admit I’m becoming a real fan of McCormick. HUGE improvement over Adam Mair.
  • And THAT one will count, Mr. McCormick!
  • Another item about McCormick – so sue me: is it just me, or is McCormick getting a TON of ice time?
  • Hee hee hee, good time to take a penalty, Toews.
  • Nice save on the 4-on-4, Lalime.

Didn’t like:

  • Little bit surprised Kaleta didn’t get a goaltender interference penalty on the play w/ about seven minutes left in the first. I think if something had happened on the play he might’ve but it went into the corner and out of the zone.
  • Pet peeve: the definition of “puck control” when a penalty is pending. Touching the puck by flailing at it with your stick is not puck control.
  • I agree with what appears to be the general consensus on Twitter – we don’t like the Myers/Leopold pairing. Do you hear us, Lindy? Try someone new! Some suggestions: Butler, Sekera. An “Oh please don’t”: Rivet
  • It seems like they’re missing so many chances that it’s going to come back and bite them in the butt.
  • VANEK – you screwed up a 3-on-1? *paging sports psychologist, paging sports psychologist*
  • Leopold, bad time to clip that dude with the high stick. Seemed unnecessary. My head is going to explode with these penalties, dude. Seriously.
  • Yes, Connolly, let’s take a huge slap shot. Turco will be totally surprised.

Where’s Pominville? Not that he was helping, but I still miss him!
