Well, I can’t complain about that… December 28, 2010

When guys like Hecht, Adam, and Weber (twice!) score, there’s not too much I will complain about. Sure, Tyler Ennis should’ve watched his stick on that first Edmonton goal, but overall the team played well. Some interesting statistics:

  • Mike Weber had his first three-point game as a Sabre and was a plus 4.
  • If not for Cody McCormick, who did NOT have a good night on faceoffs, every Sabres center would’ve been at 56% or better on faceoff wins.
  • Steve Montador continued his plus/minus charge, collecting a plus 3 in this game.
  • Mike Weber, in addition to his two goals, had five more shots blocked. He also led the team in hits.
  • Craig Rivet and Andrej Sekera both had three giveaways, to “win” at that category.
  • Jordan Leopold played almost 26 minutes – nearly half the game. Sekera was close behind him. Their ice time amount was padded by time spent killing penalties.

Going .500 on a West Coast roadtrip is okay with me. Sure, I’d rather they started racking up points and moved up in the standings, but it’s a bit much to ask of this team. Now on to play the Bruins. Haven’t we already played them fifteen times already? Oh, it just FEELS like we have… right.
