Sabres vs. Leafs 2/16/11 Postmortem – guest post by my mom! February 16, 2011

I’ve got a migraine that just won’t quit, so I’m turning over the blog to my mother’s capable hands. Here she is!

The Sabres played a respectable first period with several good shots on goal. Too bad they couldn’t pot one– it seems to be feast or famine in that regard since the New Year. Plus they didn’t take advantage of the power play, which has to be one of the mainstays of a playoff run, guys. Wanted: a center who can actually win a face-off when it counts!!!

Aaand we’re down by one. Sabres forechecking pretty much fell apart, allowing Kessel to take advantage of the breakdown, and you know he’ll do that every time. Since that first goal, the Maple Leafs have pretty much controlled the play. Do y’all really want that eighth place playoff spot or not???  Sheesh! Crowd in the penalty box– what do they talk about in there anyway? Price of oil?  Uh oh. Miller is playing with half a stick. Now he got knicked. Ouch! Suck it up, Big Guy.

Note from Amanda: Mom went home and I’m not feeling well, so that’s all we wrote for tonight. See you soon, Sabres fans…
